Our Story

About Me

My name is Stanslaus Emanuel Penko, but you can call me “Stan the Man.” I am the founder of Naioth Safaris, and my love for nature is not just a passion—it’s the essence of who I am.

I was born and raised in Northern Tanzania, in the Manyara region, near Lake Manyara National Park. For me, the wilderness was never something distant; it was home. My childhood was filled with the echoes of lions roaring through the night, the sight of elephants wandering near my village, and golden sunsets stretching across the vast African sky. From a young age, I felt a deep connection to the land. I would spend hours following animal tracks in the dust, learning to read the silent stories left behind by the wild. The elders in my community passed down their wisdom, teaching me that nature is not just something we visit—it is something we are a part of.

The moment that truly shaped my destiny was my first visit to Serengeti National Park. Standing on the endless plains, watching the drama of nature unfold before my eyes, I knew my calling—to share the magic of Tanzania with the world.

Determined to turn my passion into a profession, I pursued my studies in tour guiding in Arusha from 2014 to 2016. By 2017, I had begun my journey as a professional safari guide. Over the past eight years, I have had the privilege of guiding travelers from all over the world, taking them beyond the ordinary into the heart of Africa’s most breathtaking landscapes—the legendary Serengeti, the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater, the untamed beauty of Tarangire, and the lush wilderness of Lake Manyara National Park.

Each safari I lead is more than just a journey; it’s an experience—one that connects people to nature, to diverse cultures, and to themselves.

The Birth of Naioth Safaris

Naioth Safaris is the realization of my lifelong dream. The name “Naioth” means “a living place” and  “Safari” means  “A Journey”  that is exactly what I want my guests to experience—a safari that is alive with adventure, discovery, and meaning. We specialize in eco-tourism, personalized service, and cultural immersion, ensuring that every journey leaves not only lasting memories but also a positive impact on the environment and local communities.

For me, a safari is more than just seeing animals—it’s about understanding them. It’s about feeling the pulse of the land, respecting the traditions of the people who call it home, and recognizing that we are all part of something greater. Whether you’re watching a cheetah hunt at sunrise, standing beneath the ancient baobabs of Tarangire, or sharing stories with the Maasai under a sky filled with stars, I want you to experience Tanzania in a way that touches your soul.

So, I invite you to join me on this journey. Come and explore Tanzania—not just as a visitor, but as an adventurer, a storyteller, and a guardian of the wild.
